#11 How much space do you take up in the team

⏱ Approx. 45 minutes

𐀪 4-6 people

❔ It is important to give clear, well-defined and careful instructions in this exercise. Providing feedback to each other can be difficult and often lack of feedback reduces the value of the exercise. Therefore, it is important that the team gives each other open, honest and well-founded feedback and that the team is aware of the level of contribution to the discussions.

background

Communication and how much space each team member takes up in the team is important to the team’s cooperation and effectiveness.

purpose

The purpose of the exercise is to increase the team’s awareness of how and how much space each member takes up within the team. This overview allows each team member to adapt his or her own behavioural pattern. A way could be to give the rest of the team more space so that the team’s work becomes more efficient. This can train the team’s ability to express individual views and to provide feedback in a constructive way.
