❔ The evaluation sheet is a combined evaluation and reflection tool. Therefore, the questions relevant to the specific context may be added to the sheet.

background

Teamwork is a learning process both regarding the process itself and collaboration and is also related to the specific solution to a task. It is important to evaluate the ongoing learning processes, both individually and team-based, so that new understandings find their place and everyone is better prepared for the next learning process.

purpose

In relation to teamwork, the purpose of evaluation is to reflect on and evaluate the learning outcome and benefits from the team process. In this way, each team member becomes aware of the learning outcome and competencies gained through teamwork.

Throughout the exercise, each team member can describe his or hers experience with both process and outcome. This will be of great value for the next teamwork and for each team member.

procedure

The evaluation sheet deals with three evaluation levels:

1. Feed up – evaluation related to teamwork and the goal.
2. Feedback – evaluation related to the learning outcome for the individual team member as a result of the specific solution presented by the team.
3. Feedforward – evaluation related to the results of ‘Feed up’ and ‘Feedback’. What is the next step?

The three evaluation levels are applied to the task / the product, the process, the learning outcome, etc. Each team member completes the evaluation sheet, and then the team jointly discusses the evaluation and uses the three evaluation levels in turn. Evaluation (based on reflection) is required in all forms of teamwork.

practical matters

Evaluation and the different levels of feedback may be difficult and time consuming. However, these processes are valuable for both the individual and the team, since the team members express their learning and competency gains. Try to help each other in the team so that everyone contributes.

further information

The evaluation sheet is originally from the book ”Innovative students” by LilianRohde and Jens Boelsmand, Akademisk Forlag, 2016. You will find an evaluation sheet in Appendix 3.
